16.6.2010

Under the umbrella of the TFI program Effect Studies and Adaptation to Climate Change, the Nordic Network on Adaptive Management in relation to Climate Change (NONAM) organizes its first workshop.

  • Dates: 26 - 27 August 2010
  • Location: Reykjavík, Iceland
  • Venue: Grand Hotel Reykjavík

The workshop aims at the strengthening of links and exchange of information among Nordic researchers and practitioners in adaptive management related to climate change.

The workshop concentrates on three topics:

  • What is the difference between adaptation and adaptive management?
  • Participatory planning process - group model building
  • Uncertainty and risk assessment

For all topics, presentations both on theory & methods and on case studies will be given.

Presently we have 12 confirmed speakers. The programme, which will also include break-out sessions, will soon be confirmed and be visible at the NONAM web, see Multidisciplinary Workshop on Risk Assessment and Stakeholder Involvement or Workshop in Reykjavík.

Participation, including 2 lunches and a dinner, is free of charge. Participants, other than speakers, have to cover travel and hotel costs themselves.

Participants are invited to bring a poster of their projects. Abstracts for posters are to be submitted before 1st July to hanna.virta@fmi.fi. Notification of acceptance is given in early July.
