Sea ice in May 2009

Sea ice was quite far off shore in May.  No dispatches regarding sea ice or icebergs were made during the month.  IMO issued information regarding sea ice around mid-month, based on satellite images.  The information showed the sea ice was closest to shore about 60 nm northwest of Barði.  Easterly winds were predominant in the Greenland Strait.
