The satellite images are thermal images which show clouds. They are placed on top of a base map. The satellite images are taken from satellites belonging to the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites EUMETSAT and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration NOAA. Most of the images are combined from two satellites.
