Sea ice in February 2009

In the beginning of February satellite information showed that sea ice was about 55 nm northnorthwest of Straumsnesviti and about 60 nm northwest of Barði.  Easterly and northeasterly winds were dominant in the Greenland Strait and the sea ice was far off shore the whole month.  No dispatches from ships were received from ships and the Coast Guard did not go on an exploration flight.
