THE SOUTHERNMOST PART (AND THE CLOSEST OG ICELAND) OF THE ICE EDGE SEEMS APPROXIMATELY 76NM WNW OF KOPANES. THE ICE EDGE WAS FOLLOWED TOWARD NE AND OUTLINES DRAWN BASED ON SLAR (SIDE LOOKING AIRBORNE RADAR). SCATTERED ICE EXTENDS FROM THE MAIN ICE EDGE WITH POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS FLOES. ICE FLOES AT POS: 66°28'N 026°43'W AND 66°42'N 026°45'W. CLOSE TO THE COAST OF ICELAND WAS THE ICE EDGE (OR ICE STRIP) APPROX. 71NM NW OF STRAUMNES AND FROM THERE TOWARDS NNE. THE MAIN ICE-EDGE ON FRIDAY AT HRS 21 WAS 30NM FROM STRAUMSNES. ON SUNDAY EVENING IT IS FORECASTED STRONG WSW WIND IN THE AREA AND THE ICE COULD MOVE NEARER LAND.THE POSITIONS BELOW SHOW THE ICE-EDGE ON SATURDAY. BERGY BITS AND SMALLER PEACES OF ICE CAN BE OUTSIDE THE AREA.
