Sea ice in March 2009

Sea ice was to close to the average for March and close to median.  No dispatches from ships were received regading sea ice but the Coast Guard went on an exploration flight on the 6th.  The actual sea ice edge was not visible that day, but newly formed ice reached about 10 nm east of median.  Easterly and northeasterly winds were dominant in the Greenland Strait.
