Sea ice in April 2011
The Coast Guard did an ice survey flight across the Greenland Straight 27th April. Dense ice was seen just within the jurisdiction of Greenland. No large floes were seen on radar beyond the ice edge.
No observations were received from ships but 3rd April one observation was received from land, reporting an ice berg in location 65°42' N 32°07'W.
On the Greenland Straight easterlies were predominant but occasionally strong southwesterly wind prevailed for a few days.
