Sea ice in July 2011

A few observations were received from ships late in the month regarding an ice edge on a route which implies the need of caution for passing ships.

Two observations were received on icebergs from ships:

• 21st July in location 66°40.23‘N 025°13.34‘W
• 31st July in location 66°48.6‘N 023°03.7‘W

In the Greenland Strait northeasterly wind directions were predominant but there were also a few days with southwesterlies.
