Climate and Energy Systems, 2007-2010 - 21.12.2009

The goal of the Climate and Energy Systems project is to look at climate impacts closer in time and assess the development of the Nordic electricity system for the next 20-30 years. The project started in 2007 and will finish in 2010. It will address how the conditions for production of renewable energy in the Nordic area might change due to global warming. It will focus on the potential production and the future safety of the production systems as well as uncertainties.

Two TRI/TFI projects with roots in the CES collaboration funded - 6.9.2010

The CES project and its predecessors, CCEP, CWE and CE, have forged a longstanding research collaboration in the field of climate change and energy issues among meteorological, hydrological and many other research institutes in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The TRI/TFI (Top-level Research Initiative/Topforskningsinitiativet) is a major Nordic venture for research of the climate, energy systems and the environment. With a budget of DKK 400 million over five years, the TRI is the largest joint Nordic research and innovation initiative to date. Read more

The third CES Workshop was held at DONG Energy in Copenhagen, May 2009 - 2.9.2009

About 60 participants took part in the two-day workshop, which was overall very successful. The objective of the workshop was to report the progress of the individual working groups of the project, to revisit the implementation plan including timeline and deliverables for the individual working groups.

The second CES Workshop, held at SMHI in Norrköping, Sweden, May 2008 - 27.8.2009

About 50 participants took part in the three-day workshop, which was overall very successful. A half-day Steering Group meeting was held subsequent to the workshop where the PIs of the working groups and the representatives from the energy sector met and discussed logistics and financial matters in more detail.
