Figure 5. AMF frequency distributions (Q(D;T ) vs. T ) at target sites treated as ungauged, using best overall index flood model (bµ(D) = q0(AP)q1): vhm59 (top-left), vhm64 (top- right), vhm66 (bottom-left), vhm102 (bottom-right). Solid black line corresponds to the reference GEV distribution fitted to the observed AMF sample. Grey shaded region corre- sponds to the reference 95% CI. • 53. Ice subsidence above eastern Skaftá cauldron

shows the current position of the station (m a.s.l.). The graph (enlarge) was published 26 Sept. Now it shows the subsidence from 28 Sept until 4 Oct 2015. The total lowering of the ice-surface is shown by the value above the photograph (Heildarsig). The red line shows the median value of relative displacement for every 30 minutes. This presentation was possible throughout the event because /hydrology/research/skafta-cauldron/

relocated events (thin black line) and selected events with low relative error, within 100 m in latitude and longitude and 300 m in depth (thick line). Stress drop with respect to depth is shown as grey crosses and average stress drop for 1 km intervals is shown as red triangles. 5 Discussion After relocating the earthquakes, many of them form separate clusters, but the overall pattern forms /media/vedurstofan/utgafa/skyrslur/2009/VI_2009_013.pdf

  • 59. The low frequency tremor 23rd August 2014

is shown in three frequency bands (0,5-1 Hz; 1-2 Hz; 2-4 Hz). A low frequency tremor pulse is clearly seen just before noon 23rd August. This tremor (red line) was interpreted as signs of magma having arrived at the surface under the glacier and prompted IMO to raise the aviation colour code from orange to red. The tremor lasted a few hours and then gradually decreased during the afternoon /earthquakes-and-volcanism/articles/nr/2970
