Activity summary:
The aviation color code is moved from yellow to green as there are no signs of shallow magma intrusions in the area since December 2021, and seismic activity has reached a new background level. Deformation modeling using InSAR and GPS data still confirm deep-seated re-charge of magma under Fagradalsfjall area at >16 km depth. Last week around 100 earthquakes were detected in the extended Krýsuvík Area, which includes the eruption site from 2021. Three events with magnitude over 2.0 were detected. No volcanic tremor or significant thermal anomalies have been observed.
