A young scientist in the vicinity of Eyjafjallajökull, 23rd May 2010; the eruption is over but a glacier outburst flood from Gígjökull is to be explored. In the near future, scientist may have to concentrate on adaptive management to climate change instead of the consequences of individual events. Cooperation from various fields of knowlede will be necessary.
