Local forecasts are based on weather forecasts produced by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, ECMWF and the Danish Meteorological Institute, DMI. At the Icelandic Meteorological Office, automatic statistical methods are used to localise such forecasts.

Weather outlook
Southwest 5-13 m/s and scattered snow showers, but becoming fair in the north, and also in the south in the afternoon. Southerly or variable 3-8 m/s and fair in most places by evening. Temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees C, during day time but going below freezing during the evening. Becoming northerly winds during the night with some light snow showers in the north but remaining dry in the south.
Increasing northeasterlies tomorrow, 10-18 m/s towards the evening, but locally stronger winds in the southeast. Some light snow or sleet showers in the north and east, but starting to snow in the east in the afternoon. Temperatures of 0 to 8 degrees C, warmest in the southernmost part of Iceland.

On Saturday:
Increasing northeast and north wind, 10 to 18 m/s by evening but stronger winds in some places in the southeast part. Snow or sleet in the east part in the afternoon, minor snowshowers in the north part but fair in the south. Temperatures 0 to 5 degrees Celcius during the day, mildest in the southernmost part.
On Sunday:
Easterly or variable wind 3 to 10 but north 10 to 18 in the west part until evening. Widely snow or sleet before noon but mainly dry in the south part. Decreasing precipitation in the afternoon but snow or sleet in the east part in the evening. Similar temperatures.
On Monday:
Northerly or variable wind, 5 to 10 but 10 to 15 in the northwest part. Showers of snow or sleet but fair in the south part. Temperatures 0 to 8 deg, C., warmest in the south part.
On Tuesday:
NOrtheast or variable wind and light snow or sleet but mostly dry inland. Similar temperatures.
On Wednesday:
East and northeast wind. Rain or snow but mainly dry in the north part until evening. Temperatures 0 to 5 deg, C.
On Thursday:
Looks like variable wind. Intermittent rain or sleet in most parts. North wind with snow showers by evening with falling temperatures but becoming dry in the south part.
