Mars Polar Science and Exploration
The 6th International Conference is to be held in Reykjavík
The Local Organizing Committee welcomes you to Iceland!
The Sixth Conference on Mars Polar Science and Exploration will be held in Reykjavík on September 5 - 9 2016. The meeting will be jointly hosted by the Icelandic Meteorological Office and the University of Iceland and held on the premises of the University.
From the outset, the Mars Polar Conferences have promoted the exchange of information and ideas between Mars researchers and terrestrial polar scientists. Iceland is often referred to as one of the key sites on Earth to study Mars analogs, and a series of field trips to sites of geological interest will thus be offered in connection with this meeting. Focus will be on active glaciers, climate history, flood basalts, subglacial volcanism and catastrophic flooding.
