End of eruption - photos

No glow, no new magma

28.2.2015

Neither glow in the craters nor at the eruptive fissure were seen in a helicopter flight 27 February 2015. Nor were there any outbreaks of magma to be seen in this surveillance flight over the extensive lava field; only a tiny, tiny, glow in an old outbreak, far away from the craters. The concentration of SO2 was measured, both in flight and when a landing was made near the eruptive site, and proved to be 0,4 ppm (max) in both cases, which corresponds to about 1100 μg/m³.
