West and northwest 8-13 m/s in the morning, but locally stronger winds in the southeast part until afternoon. Widely wet weather, but mostly dry in Southeast-Iceland and the Eastfjords. Temperature 6 to 13 deg. C, warmest in the easternmost part. Decreasing wind and precipitation in the afternoon. North 3-8 in the evening with drizzle in the north part, and mostly dry elsewhere. Gradually becoming cooler, especially in the north.

Specialist remark

Today October 4th at 00:40 an M3.4 earthquake was detected in the Brennisteinsfjöll, near Reykjavík. The earthquake was felt in the SW-corner of Iceland. Around 15 smaller aftershocks have been detected. >p> A magnitude 3.3 occurred just NE of Grimsey on October 1st at 06:49. A few earthquakes have been observed in the area in the past few day, but earthquakes there are quite common.
