Pilot reports

Pilot reports

Access to pilot report registration

A pilot report or PIREP is a report of actual weather conditions encountered by an aircraft in flight. This information is usually relayed by radio to the nearest ground station. At a minimum the PIREP must contain a header, aircraft location, time, flight level, aircraft type and one other field.

All significant weather encountered by an aircraft in flight, either to or from any Icelandic airport or airstrip, shall be reported to the Icelandic Meteorological Office; also in flight within the Reykjavík FIR/CTA.

The registration form appears in English in all browsers except those assigned to Icelandic. However, pilot reports appear in the original language in which they are written.
