Gale to storm winds Friday and Saturday
Travellers advised to monitor road and weather conditions
The Icelandic Meteorological Office warns that there are now gale to storm winds (18-25 m/s) in the West fjords and along the north coast.
These winds will have moved inland and also over the southwest part in the afternoon (Friday) and the southeast in the evening (Friday) with windgusts over 40 m/s on the leeside of mountains and the glaciers. In the northern half of the country there will be sleet and later snow, with considerable precipitation in places.
